EARTH DAY 2021

On Thursday, April 22nd - EARTH DAY! - we will launch a super limited and super adorable wrap top and matching wrap skirt in our most-loved Monstera print.

The Earth Day set will be available as a pre-order for one day only starting at 11am EST on April 22nd. You can expect to receive yours by the first week of May along with a sweet little gift from our garden.

As always, these pieces will be lovingly handcrafted using locally-sourced deadstock fabrics. Because of the limited nature of deadstock materials, we will only be offering a few in each size, so make sure you are on our Pre-Order page, logged in to your account and ready to place your order at 11am! If you don't have an account yet, you can create one here.

Earth Day/ Month is the perfect opportunity to take a look at your consumption and spending habits and ask yourself how you can take better care of our planet via your dollars. A great place to start is right in your home, especially in your kitchen and bathroom! In my personal experience, that is where I have found the most toxic products, single-use plastics, non-recyclable packaging and general waste.

This can be a stressful and seemingly hopeless exercise, especially if you haven't done it before, but the key here is to take baby steps. Once a year, in celebration of Earth Day, I commit to making one or two new changes to make my life and my home more eco-friendly, and over the many years I've been practicing this, I've managed to ::almost:: completely switch over from purchasing conventional products and foods to only purchasing organic, natural products in recyclable packaging from socially and ecologically mindful companies. Plus, it's so easy to find green and affordable products online now!

Here are just a few of the companies/products I've switched to that help me sleep better at night knowing I am contributing to a cleaner planet while also supporting beautiful, mindful companies and humans:

Brush with Bamboo - bamboo toothbrushes made with 100% USDA certified compostable bristles (I order the kids' size for myself!) They also make a great neem hair comb that is antimicrobial and feels soooo good on the scalp.

David's Toothpaste - this is my favorite natural toothpaste + it comes in an aluminum tube!

Credo - amazing clean beauty store (shop in person + online) One of my favorite products is Routine Superstar Natural Deodorant - it comes in a glass jar but they also offer it in stick form in a paper tube.

Lisa Eddy Soul + Skin Care - Lisa is an Earth Angel. She's a holistic lifestyle, soul and skin expert and is actually the one who helped me start to clear away toxins from my home and skincare products in 2011. She makes the most luxurious, natural skincare that actually works - my fav is her Nourish Cream (which comes in whipped form and is aaaaamazing) and her Oh Mega Goodness Oil. She is also hilarious so make sure to check out her new podcast, Sacred Beauty Lifestyle!

Rahua - my all-time favorite haircare made with clean, ethically&sustainably sourced ingredients from the Amazon Rainforest. They offer shampoo&conditioner refills and most of their other products come in glass containers. They have a Symbiotic Certification and are big on preservation, sustainability, and philanthropic work to protect the rainforest and its Indigenous Peoples. Check out their non-profits, too: Ecoagents + Pink Flamingos Project

Thrive Market - my one-stop-shop online market for organic food and snacks, supplements, home products and everything in between. Ethical & sustainable sourcing. Carbon-neutral shipping. Zero-Waste warehouses. Recyclable/ compostable packaging. All at a much lower price than big-chain organic grocery stores(cough, cough: Whole Foods aka AMAZON). For every membership purchased, they provide a free membership to a family in need.
Some of my favorite items:
WasteZero Compostable & Reclaimed trash bags
Repurpose Compostable Straws
Beyond Gourmet Reusable Organic Cotton Produce Bags
Thrive Market Organic Regeneratively Grown French Coffee Beans
Dr. Bronner's Organic Regenerative Coconut Oil
Santa Cruz Organic Peanut Butter (yay, no palm oil!)

The list of ways to make a positive impact is endless, and EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS! You don't have to do it all at once, but if you can do something, you absolutely should do it.

The change you want to see in the world begins with YOU.

If you need help transitioning to a greener lifestyle, have further questions or want more recommendations, just reply to this email, I'm happy to share more of my resources. If you have your own list of favorite companies and products, I'd love to hear about them, too!

I hope this encourages you to make at least one change in how and what you consume and purchase to reduce your impact and help collectively heal our home.

Happy Earth Day & Earth Month, Earthlings!
